ARRCo 8'6" 7 weight - 3 piece, hollow built

The taper for this powerful 7 wt. rod is based on a Payne Canadian Canoe, with a few tweaks including a full hollow build and a small fighting butt. At 5 1/8 oz. including the fighting butt, this rod still comes in around a half ounce lighter than most solid Canadian Canoes. However, the redistribution of weight plays a larger role than the overall weight savings. The hollow tips recover quickly and by removing weight from the blank the swing weight of the rod feels much lighter than a solid version of the same taper.

With the exception of the aluminum, up locking reel seat, all hardware is blued. The reel seat spacer as well as matching ferrule plugs are curly white oak. Translucent persimmon silk wraps with oxblood tipping and intermediates. This three piece rod includes two tips, storage bag and brass capped tube.
